The condo had been professionally designed years earlier and still held a number of beautiful, distinctive pieces. The owner had passed away and the home needed to be prepared for market.

The mix was a difficult one: furniture and design pieces with genuine longevity sitting next to damaged or worn items, dated elements, and an overall presentation that no longer felt relevant to today’s buyers.

The approach was merge and purge. The best existing pieces stayed and anchored the new direction, anything dated or damaged went, and the surroundings were updated so the pieces that remained felt intentional rather than simply old. That meant a warmer neutral paint and a warm mid-tone floor chosen to connect back to the existing kitchen.

The goal was not to erase the home’s design history. It was to work out what still had longevity, then update everything around it so those pieces could work again.
